7 years of friendship, gone. 7 years of what I believed, shot down.

I’m not going to shed tears, cause I know you hated them.

I’m not going to complain, cause there’s no one to complain to.

I’m not going to make things better, cause if it was meant to be, it would.

I love you. That’s all I have to say.

Dream Dream Dream

March 26, 2008 at 12:19 am | In Uncategorized | No Comments

Dreams. We all have them. “It’s just a dream” everyone says. “Oh, it’s a dream…it means nothing”  I was pretty much like that…until yesterday.    I got to thinking. When we properly analyze the situation, Dreams actually do mean something.  When we’re awake, everything has to do with stuff OUTSIDE. The people we talk to, the place we’re at, the things we’re doing. That all contributes to what our minds think about when we’re awake. But when we sleep, there are no distractions of the sort. Our mind will think whatever it wants. Dreams are like… pictures of how our minds work without us. Dreams are signs, maybe messages our minds are giving to us, about us.  Sounds crazy but it makes sense. Everytime we dream something, it could be a message out minds are trying to tell us; remember, we’re not conscious,  we do not form dreams, our minds do. Just thought it was a cool point, ya know. To pay respect towards my mind, I’ve started a dream journal. I mean, if it’s thinking bout something… I think I should know what it is. So jotting down my dreams as soon as I wake up and analyzing them at night is now gonna be a daily routine. Neways, speaking of dreams. It’s late, I better head to bed. See ya guys.

The First Saturday

March 23, 2008 at 1:42 am | In Uncategorized | 1 Comment

Well yea, Easter Holidays are here…finally! Happy happy happy. So, I packed up on Thursday and left for London. Staying in my brother’s place. 3 weeks of… eat, sleep and er…I’ll think of something, I suppose.  Anyways, on Friday we woke up late (something that hasn’t happened in a while) had a salami sammich for breakfast and some milk. Went out to Bond St. for some Calvin Klein Underwear, went to HMV….it started hailing. Did some clothes shopping. Blah blah blah. Boooooring. Saturday, now…saturday was really eventful >_<. Woke up  at 9.30am to get ready to go out, Nuri and I were meeting two guys, Stefanos and Sveti at Tate’s Modern (an art museum). Reached the place at like 12.30, Stefanos was there but Sveti overslept -_-. Nuri, Stefanos and me paid to see both exhibitions, a DuChamp one and a… I forget the second one’s name but it was the cooler one. The DuChamp one was rather dry, but he was a cubist so it was pretty fun since I’m doing my final coursework piece on cubism based on issues. There were a lot of quirky things but the thing that topped the cake was the mini urinal! Yea, I was so amazed by the mini urinal….The second one a.k.a the cooler one, that was awesome. There were midgets, lots of midgets =)! Midgets are like soooo cool, me and Stefanos thought so…Nuri just thought it was creepy. Midgets talking, midgets sitting, midgets doing weird things to each other.  After that, Sveti joined us and we went to have according to Stefanos “Pretty authentic” greek cuisine. We didn’t order anything, Stefanos did all the ordering… he’s greek, he should know what’s good to eat. We had Greek Bread, and er…. like some Raita thing and like…honestly, I have no idea what I consumed >_<. It tasted good and that’s all I care about. Me and Nuri had to leave at 3pm because we had a wedding to attend at 6. We of course didn’t wanna leave, we were having a pretty good time. We got back home…rested a while and started to get ready for the wedding. My god, I hate weddings. “Oh it’s your turn next!” the weird aunts will say to you, I’ll just remember to say the same to them when I got to the next funeral.Oh yea, no pictures of the museum/lunch cause pics aren’t allowed and I didn’t wanna drag my camera around.   So, reached the wedding…it was pretty cool. Gonna explain it with some photo’s.   Moimoi My dress. I was only informed on Wed about the wedding, thank god I had this stocked away in the cupboard.  carr In the car on the way… honestly just not in the mood for a wedding. I wanted more Stefanos… not stupid happy people getting married. Stefanos! (Yes, I do kind have a thing for him)  fakesmile The fake smile…after a while it becomes natural. entertained Actually entertained! A Miracle .  hungryWaiting for dinner. It only got served at 7.30. Didn’t bother taking other photo’s…too bored. Now, I’m watching Dawn of the Dead… meh. Life’s boring but still good. See ya, Poka. Out.

Scent of a Woman.

February 12, 2008 at 2:22 am | In Uncategorized | 4 Comments

I’ve always had a taste for the finer things in life. Food, Clothes, Bags and even perfume.

Perfume is an extremely important entity in my life.

Why? Generally…. I like to smell nice. But of course there is another reason. Sense of smell is one of the senses that can trigger a memory. It helps you remember something. That’s exactly the main reason I wear perfume. I travel a lot, so everytime I go to a new country… I wear a new scent..and everytime I wear the scent again, it reminds me of the country. Same goes for special events…when I say special, I mean something singular and that exudes a sense of individuality (not just another date or an outing with friends.)

Through the years, I’ve smelt my share of amazing and horrible perfumes.

Before I buy anything, I always go back to the shop and smell it over and over again a few times. Spritz the tester on my skin and see how it smells like after an hour. I also do some research over the net. I know it sounds obsessive, but the price of perfumes are rising drastically and no one wants to be stuck with a scent they aren’t too fond of.

Signature scents are generally a perfume you use on an everyday basis/ a scent that you always smell like. When picking a signature scent, it’s really crucial to take in consideration some aspects of wearing a scent (e.g: Is it suitable for both day and night? Will it bother the people you work/study with? Is it too pricey for you price range to buy this perfume regularly).

When I came to the UK, I obviously started anew. Got a new signature scent, that is. The perfume I’ve been wearing for the past 2 months is Bvlgari’s Rose Essentialle. It’s soft, flowery but still has this trong musky pressence which makes a big impact. Honestly? This is not a signature scent for a person of a regular income, so if you plan on getting it…only use it for special occasions.

bvlgari

Yesterday, I was free between classes so I stopped by my local Debenhams outlet to look at the perfume. I got some Chanel eyeliner.

I really do have to admit, I went perfume crazy and I didn’t buy 1… or 2, but 3 perfumes.

The first one I bought was Moschino Couture. The scent is fruity bubbly and generally a very energetic one. Mum used to use it.

moschino

The second one was well the second most expensive. It’s Thierry Mugler’s Angel. =) I love this scent. It’s just so comforting and warm and homely and again, mum used it. There’s something so “motherly” about the scent. Lovely.

angel

Last and most expensive is well, one of the most amazing perfumes ever. Prada’s Infusion d’Iris. It’s devine. It’s so springy and refreshing, but not in an overpowering sense…in a delicate manner. It costed me a bomb £ 100 + . x_X . It gives out the feel of sophistication and maturity. I have a feeling a lot of old ladies will be wearing it but… meh, I don’t really care. I love the smell.

prada

Why on earth do some perfume’s cost so much? Well here’s a breif explanation.

Eau De Toilet (EDT) has an average percentage of perfume oil.
Eau De Parfum (EDP) has a high percentage of perfume oil.
Parfum has a very high percentage.

There ya go… simple. The percentage doesn’t make them stronger/smell different. It just contributes to the amount of time they stay on your body.

The Life of a Student.

February 4, 2008 at 12:23 pm | In Uncategorized | No Comments

Well yea, I’m going to officially update a post about my life now.

I’ve been in school for about, 2 weeks already.

Life’s obviously so different….

The college is mostly filled with A-level taking students and even the GCSE taking students are treated like well….college students. Everything’s so independent over here, it’s crazy.

As you guys know, I’m living in a dorm. It’s a huge house, housing about 15 of us. The reason I’m reffering to everything as “independent” is because it is. Everything from waking up and coming back home… it’s all up to you. I don’t have a curfew, there are generally no rules in the house except “Don’t damage the property and try not to make too much noise.”
The reason I put “try” there is generally cause it’s pretty noisy. Breakfast, Lunch and dinner is all up to the individual…they don’t care if you eat or not. It really builds personality and living skills.. like eventhough you go to a party, you know you have the responsibility of waking up in the morning by yourself.

In the house, I’m closer to the Europeans… cause they’re well, smarter in a common sense kind of way.

Surprise, surprise… I cook every night. Thank god I actually helped my brother cook back in Malaysia. x_X. I will now proceed to list down what I have cooked. Pasta with a tomato, garlic and basil based sauce. Pasta with a mushroom cream sauce. Rib-eye steak with honey glazed baby carrots and a blackpepper mushroom sauce. Pasta with a cream based clam sauce. Chicken Breast with a Rosemary and apple sauce. See… I can actually cook.

Sorry, I’m just blabbering. x_x

Anyways, yea…not many people in the house actually cook . Everynight, there will only be 3 people who actually cook “real food”. Me, Antoine and Dominic… I mean, honestly. The rest are totally useless. It’s either something Microwavable, something they just have to heat up…or something they add water to. Disgusting.

Living with guys…also disgusting. Guys are honestly icky. They DON’T flush the toilet when they use it… they DON’T wash the dishes they use. Once, I bought a carton of apple juice and like left it in the fridge UNOPENED at about 8pm… and when I went to the kitchen and like 2 am, it was almost finished. As I entered the kitchen, I was welcomed with the sight of a guy…cooking…in nothing but a pair of boxers.

Girls, savour life living with your parents as long as you can, cause honestly… the independent life is nothing so special after all.
